I contacted Dawn Senior Services after realizing my Dad needed some extra help, even though he lives in assisted living due to his dementia. I couldn’t be happier with the level of care and attention he is receiving. Jessica is caring and engaged; she takes care of my dad as I would, which is to say she is firm, but caring, even when he is being difficult. She does more than just sit with him; she is always looking for different activities to keep him busy and interested. She communicates with me so I am aware of his daily condition and adjusts as needed, both with care and activities, as well as some last minute scheduling changes that were necessary. Couldn’t ask for more in a caregiver!

I was very fortunate that Jessica Parker was the director of memory care at a local assisted living community while my dad was a resident. She was knowledgeable and took the time to help myself and my family work through issues, concerns, etc. and was extremely patient with us. Through her caring, concern, and drive to enrich the lives of each resident, she helped her staff to provide the best care possible. Despite all her many duties, she took time each and every day to spend quality time with each and every resident and enriched their lives in so very many wonderful ways. She was inventive and worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was not only well cared for physically, but mentally as well. Her personal touch in all she did was an inspiration to me. I am so very grateful for the care and love she gave to my dad and also to each and every resident.
If I was ever in need of care for another loved one or even myself, I would most definitely want to have Jessica work for and with me.

I met Jessica when she was directing the memory care facility where my mother is a resident. She was a pleasure to work with and was very involved with the residents and their care. If I had concerns about my mother’s care, I knew I could go to Jessica and she would take care of the situation as soon as possible, as well as following up with me to make sure everything was resolved. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone who wants a professional who is kind, respectful, and truly cares for people.

Jessica is a gem! We are so grateful for her and the care that she gives to our father. She always has his best interests at heart and can “get the job done” in a gentle yet positive way. For example, she is able to get him to shower or exercise when others haven’t been able to. She is patient and kind, engaging and always cheerful. I can trust her implicitly. I also know that she will honestly tell me if she can work a shift or not, and will be honest about his condition on a day to day status. As a family of medical providers ourselves, we appreciate and value her knowledge of senior care policies and procedures. She is well liked and respected by the other staff at my father’s assisted living facility even though she is privately hired. I think a huge complement was paid to her when the director said, “I would hire her in a heartbeat to work here.” I replied, “You would be hiring her for your job, however.” She is that good!

When I entrusted the care of my 90 year-old father, suffering the final stages of Alzheimer’s disease to a national chain’s memory care center, I didn’t expect the Director of that center to be a very young woman. How could she possibly deal with elderly dementia patients?
I soon found out. I saw with my own eyes that she has an amazingly calming influence with agitated memory patients. An unruly patient might be “fighting” with the staff, but becomes manageable and happy when Ms. Parker takes command of the situation.
And speaking of command, I was surprised by the “command presence” she had with her much older staff. She was clearly the boss, and did so by not bossing anyone, but instead expecting individual responsibility from them. This is how natural leaders become…leaders!
As a leader, I noticed that she spends little time talking, yet far more time listening to her staff, her patients, and the concerned family of her patients. Confident leaders like Ms. Parker keep their mouths shut and their ears open.
The three traits I mention above combine to reveal a woman who seems far more mature than her years, and one who clearly has a strong empathy and compassion for seniors. And THAT is how she dealt with and cared for my father.
I would unequivocally recommend Ms. Parker to anyone contemplating personal caregiving to a senior family member.

Jessica Parker was the director of the memory care unit where my father currently lives. She took a very hands on approach to her position and interacted on a daily basis with the residents and their families. Jessica has passion, compassion and empathy for those suffering from memory loss and physical infirmities. She insisted that the residents be treated with dignity and respect. I felt comfortable discussing my father’s care with her and confident that she would make every effort to implement changes that we agreed on. I highly recommend Jessica to anyone who is looking for a kind and skilled professional to manage their loved one ‘s care.
