Mozart wrote the Mass in C Minor to reaffirm his faith, to reach out to his estranged father, to affirm his love for his wife and to thank God for his first child. As such, he created a piece of boldness and variety; from deadly serious to joyously virtuosic, with searing harmonies and masterful intricacies.
